CAST's flagship publication, Universal Design for Learning: Theory and Practice, is now available at no cost on the Clusive® platform. 

Clusive is a flexible and customizable digital reading tool developed by CAST and its partners in the federally funded Center on Inclusive Software for Learning (CISL). It contains scaffolds and supports designed with accessibility and Universal Design for Learning in mind.

To access the book in Clusive:

  • Create a teacher or parent account (student accounts cannot access the book)
  • Go to the resources page
  • Scroll down to the bottom and click on the book

Universal Design for Learning: Theory and Practice was written by CAST Co-Founders Anne Meyer and David H. Rose, along with David Gordon. Published in 2014, the book has been a perennial bestseller. A new edition will be published in 2024 to mark CAST’s 40th anniversary.
